Product Summary
Single Skin Plastic Oil Tank rotationally moulded from premium grade, oil resistant Medium Density Polyethylene. Harlequin Advance Single Skin Oil Tanks are supplied complete with:
- 2" BSP Lockable Fill Point with Cap and Chain
- 4" Inspection Point with Plastic Screw Cap
- 2" Vent
- 1" BSP Bottom Outlet
- Oil Tank Contents Dipstick
- Apollo Electronic Oil Tank Contents Gauge
- Bottom Outlet Oil Tank Fitting Kit comprising 1" / 0.5" Reducer; Lever Type Isolation Valve; Filter; PTFE Tape; and Heldite Liquid Sealant
Applications
Single Skin Plastic Oil Tank suitable for the storage of home heating oil at above ground oil storage tank installations at single family dwellings, subject to prevailing statutory requirements and a recognise Risk Assessment being undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements and the requirements of OFTEC Technical Instruction Book 3.
Please note that this plastic oil tank is unsuitable for connection to a fuel delivery system incorporating a flexible hose and trigger nozzle. Please refer instead to Harlequin Bunded Fuel Point, Bunded Fuel Station or Bunded BioFuel Station ranges.
Important Information: Single Skin Oil Tanks
Single Skin Oil Tanks do not incorporate any form of secondary containment. Therefore in the event of a spillage, a pollution incident will result. Consideration therefore should always be given to installing a Bunded Oil Tank.
A Bunded Oil Tank consists of a tank within a tank. The fuel is stored in the inner tank; the outer tank provides additional protection in the event of a spill. Bunded Oil Tanks are proven to significantly reduce the likelihood and impact of environmental pollution incidents at fuel storage installations. Bunded Oil Tanks are now a requirement at all agricultural, commercial, industrial and institutional premises, as well as at nearly all domestic premises too.
At most oil tank installations in the UK and Republic of Ireland today... if you're fitting a Single Skin Oil Tank, you're probably fitting the wrong type of oil tank! Fitting Single Skin Oil Tanks where Bunded Oil Tanks are a legal requirement is an offence.

Installation Requirements
This oil tank must be installed and maintained by an OFTEC Registered Technician or simialarly competent person in accordance with:
- Supplied instructions
- Prevailing statutory requirements
- The oil tank installation requirements detailed within OFTEC Technical Instruction Book 3
