Despite the dramas taking place in the skies, visitors and exhibitors to FPS EXPO made sure that Volcanic Ash didn't get in their way and as the doors closed on FPS EXPO 2010 on 22 April organisers The Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS), recorded only a slight drop in visitor numbers to the show with one exhibitor making it from as far afield as Greece via Rome and Calais.

Industry News: A Chip Off The Old Block Boosts Bioheating Oil

Renewable Energy Specialist, Clenergen Corporation (CRGE) has signed a Technical Agreement with Honeywell's Envergent Technologies which will see Wood Chips produced from the cultivation of Marjestica Trees, Beema Bamboo and Vanashree Trees, being converted to Bioheating Oil. Beneficially, the cost of production are projected to be at least 25% less than petroleum-derived fuel oils.

Industry News: OFTEC Launches A New ERA In Fuel Oil Storage

OFTEC has launched a new voluntary eco-labelling scheme for oil storage tanks. The Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) Scheme builds upon successful eco-labelling initiatives in other industries, and rates new oil tanks according to their environmental features on a scale from 1 to 10. The lower the number, the lower the risk of an environmental pollution incident.
