CIM Marketing Excellence Awards Receives Record Entry Numbers!
4th November 2011
The CIM Marketing Excellence Awards were held in Belfast City Hall last night (3rd November) and companies from across Ireland turned up to find out who would be walking away with an award on the night.
Fresh on the heels of the MTV EMA celebrations, the CIM Awards were held in the midst of they City Hall's construction of its stage for this weekend's events.
The ceremony was hosted by the BBC's very own Sarah Travers, and guest speaker on the night was world famous fashion designer, Paul Costelloe, who entertained the masses with his recollections of becoming a fashion designer in the height of Northern Ireland's 'troubles'.
Getting down to business on the night, the awards ceremony covered 20 categories within a wide variety of sectors. This year's Marketing Excellence Awards received a record 159 entries, with only 60 companies making it to the shortlist of finalists.
Clarehill Plastics, under the Harlequin brand, were one of the companies lucky enough to make it to that shortlist and were even luckier to walk away with a Highly Commended award for 'Best International Market Development Campaign' as a result of the company's work in developing its export sales of bunded diesel tanks and bunded oil tanks into European markets.
Other winners on the night included Derry City of Culture for 'Best Online Campaign', Northern Bank for 'Best Brand Development Campaign', N.I Chamber of Commerce, for 'Best Sales Campaign Using Traditional Promotional Mechanisms'.
