Cutting Rural Crime With Harlequin Oil Tanks!

Harlequin Oil Tanks teamed up with the West Oxfordshire Community Safety Partnership this week, to promote the importance of taking measures to prevent crime in rural areas.

The event was organised to encourage farmers and business owners to protect their properites in light of the recent increases in fuel and chemical thefts.

As part of the event, two informal drop-in sessions were held in order for those interested to ask questions to relevant officials, including members of Trading Standards, Oxfordshire Fire Service and Crimestoppers. Chief Inspector, Colin Paine, opened the event with an overview of crime in the area. Speaking at the event, Chief Inspector Paine said: “Rural crime can range from mindless damage to organised high valuetheft and we have, unfortunately, seen an increase in the number ofthefts recently. Scrap metal and fuel is being targeted as it hasincreased in value but our event will cover a whole range of issuesapplicable to farmers, rural businesses and communities".

Representing Harlequin on the day was Area Sales Manager, Paul Molle, who offerered help and advice to farmers and business owners on protecting both their fuel and their fuel tanks.
