A 'Good Morning' For Harlequin

15th June 2011

BBC Radio Ulster's 'Good Morning Ulster' show today featured an interview with Clarehill Plastics' Managing Director, Brian McCann.

During the interview, Mr. McCann explained to the BBC's Eddie O'Gorman how Clarehill's export business had grown from 10% to over 35% of its overall business, meaning that its export sales are now almost equal in volume to its GB sales.

Until recently, domestic oil tanks had historically been at the core of Clarehill's sales strategy. However, the company is now aiming to get involved in manufacturing more complex commercial tanks for distribution across Europe.

In addition to enhancing its sales strategy, Clarehill has also worked hard to improve its manufacturing processes in recent years. The company, which employs over 90 staff at its Moira headquarters, was the first tank manufacturer to participate in the ERA (Environmental Risk Assessment) tank labelling scheme. Its range of Harlequin oil tanks now features an extensive range of environmentally preferred, fully bunded tanks for use with home heating oil, diesel, biodiesel, waste oil, water and Adblue.

This is the second time within a matter of weeks that Clarehill Plastics has made the headlines. Recently, the company recevied media attention as a result of its efforts alongside Invest NI in achieving cost savings of £1.5M through improved efficiencies in its operations and logistics processes.

As the company celebrates its 30th Anniversary, such success stories are true reflections of the efforts that Clarehill Plastics has invested in continued research and development for over three decades.

Today, Clarehill Plastics is a leading European manufacturer of a range of bunded tanks, including heating oil tanks, diesel tanks, biodiesel tanks, water tanks and waste oil tanks.
