Harlequin Excels In First Environmental Performance Rankings
11th January 2011
Clarehill Plastics Limited, manufacturers of Harlequin Tanks are delighted to announce the company’s success in the Arena Network’s 2010 Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey http://www.bitc.org.uk/northern_ireland/what_we_do/planet/survey_ni.html.
The survey is conducted each year; participating organisations complete a detailed submission which is then verified during a visit from Arena’s assessors. The survey which took in 143 companies this year is widely recognised as the principle measure, in Northern Ireland, of how environmentally engaged an organisation is.
Clarehill Plastics entered the survey this year for the first time and scored over 80%, which places the business in Quintile 1 of Northern Ireland organisations.Managing Director Brian McCann said, “Environmental management has been at the heart of what we do here at Clarehill for some time.I am extremely pleased that, having compared what we do with Northern Irelands leading companies, this report has ranked us so highly.Indeed all of us at Clarehill are pleasantly surprised to find ourselves in the same category as organisations such as DuPont (UK) Ltd, Marks & Spencer’s, BT and Sainsbury’s.We don’t just look at this as an exercise in benchmarking for its own sake however, but as a chance to look for opportunities to share best practice with leading companies and councils in Northern Ireland.”
