Harlequin Welcomes OFTEC's New Technical Instruction Booklets
30th July 2010
OFTEC has published a new set of technical books to reflect the changes to building regulations in England and Wales, as well as the new Scottish technical standards. In response to feedback from installers, OFTEC has also taken the opportunity to completely re-design the books, making them easier to use for reference material.
The new set of books covers changes to part J, F, L and G of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. They also include the new Scottish Building Standards' Technical Handbooks for domestic and non domestic buildings, which affect anyone working on oil.
Harlequin's Marketing & Customer Service Manager, John Switzer says, "We welcome the publication of the new OFTEC Technical Instruction Books which codify established best practice and are the cornerstone of a safe and environmentally responsible oil heating, cooking and storage installation. As a responsible manufacturer, we require that all Harlequin fuel oil storage tanks are installed and maintained by an OFTEC Registered Technician or other, similarly competent person and in accordance with the requirements detailed in OFTEC Technical Instruction Book 3."
To complement the updated books, the OFTEC assessment process has been re-developed to make it more relevant to everyday work, incorporating practical tasks and visual theory in exams. The latest books are now available online the from the OFTEC Direct website.
