Area Sales Manager (Water & Waste Water)

Reports to
Product Category Manager (Water & Waste Water)
Main Role
To build long term sales for porducts in the Water and Waste Water sectors, ensuring sales pipeline sustainability is maintained through the provision of excellent customer service and technical knowledge.
Key Role Functions

  1. Maintain existing relationship and business via scheduled visits within an existing Customer Base.
  2. New Business Calls and Lead Development.
  3. Manage Harlequin Waste Water Treatment (WWT) Installer Network to provide support and identify areas for growth.
  4. Responsibility for dealing with more complex WWT enquiries. i.e. sizing / costing of correct systems for a specific projects.
  5. Liase with Heavy and Lightside Merchant Branches in order to increase area sales.
  6. Arrange and attend site visits where necessary in order to support installers, ASM’s and end user.
  7. Supporting fellow Area Sales Managers’s in Southern Region regarding WWT enquiries, trade days, WWT presentations.
  8. Carry out local and national market research, relative to WWT as and when required.
  9. Completion of visit reports.
  10. Attend exhibition/shows etc as and when required.
  11. Build contacts with Architects and Specifiers in the area.
  12. Use CRM systems to build and manage Sales Lead Pipepline.

Essential Criteria

  1. Full clean Driving License.
  2. Experience of managing sales of manufactured product within heavy and/or  lightside builders and plumbers merchants.
  3. Good customer service skills, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  4. Excellent long term relationship building skills.
  5. Self Motivated ability to self manage workloads effectively,
  6. Commercial acumen to manage key account business relationships.
  7. Good level of IT Literacy including previous use of CRM systems.
  8. Ability to work as part of and with the support from the wider team.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience of the Water and Waste Water industry.
  2. Experience of end user site visits for Waste Water treatment plants.
  3. Ability to scope and quote waste water treatment plants with reference to British Water Guidelines.
  4. Proven track record of sales growth within a B2B environment.
